Grocery List

I get asked all the time what items are on a typical weeks grocery list, so here it is!

  • Chicken- make sure it's all natural and doesn't have any chicken broth
  • Extra lean ground turkey- lean is okay too just try to drain the fat as you cook it
  • Ground Chicken- I usually choose between chicken or turkey
  • Steak- B loves his steak so we buy a couple every week, just look for the leanest cut
  • Fish- Usually Salmon or Tilapia, sometimes both! 
Fruits and Veggies 
  • Bananas 
  • Apples- I love Honeycrisp, but they're pricey
  • Blueberries- used mostly for breakfast 
  • Spinach
  • Onion- both red and yellow
  • Zucchini- I love it raw with hummus or steamed
  • Asparagus
  • French green beans- like these so much better than regular, although I think they're just cut thinner
  • Lettuce
  • Avocado (healthy fat)
  • Yams
  • Tomato
  • Lemon
  • Mushrooms 
  • Ezekiel low sodium bread
  • Ezekiel wraps/tortillas 
  • Brown Rice
  • Quinoa
  • Oats
  • Oat flour 
  • Chick Peas 
  • Black beans 
Healthy Fats
  • Almonds
  • Almond Butter
  • All natural peanut butter 
  • Ground flax seed
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Hummus 
  • Lactaid non-fat cottage cheese
  • Eggs
  • Pasturized egg whites in a carton 
  • Unsweentend Almond milk 
  • Fage fat free greek yogurt 
  • Almond cheese 
These are the foods that are always in my fridge/pantry. Other items like spices, sauces, condiments, etc. depend on what recipes I am making that week. I always take some time before getting to the grocery store to write out 5-6 meals for the week, then make a list of what ingredients I will need for those meals. It makes grocery shopping much more efficient and you save money too! 


  1. Are u gluten free? I notice you do ezekiel bread. I'm mostly gluten free but I do ezekiel bread every now and then.

  2. I am sensitive to gluten so I try to keep it out of most of my recipes but Ezekiel bread doesn't seem to bother me too bad.

  4. I use Dymatize Iso 100 in vanilla for my Whey protein and Optimum Nutrition peanut butter chocolate for Casein.

    1. Hello! Could you do an updated supplements blog/vlog? I use Dymatize ISO-100 as well, but I saw it contains sucralose. I am guessing you no longer use this since you seem to be a stevia advocate. I have also heard most casein proteins are not clean & notice you no longer use it for your dessert. Any updated knowledge helps. Thanks! :)

  6. I do whey for post workout and casein right before bed.

    2. Like right right before bed? If you literally drink your shake and go to bed I would do half and half. If you have some time I would do both, maybe just 1/2 scoop of casein.

  7. i've tried almond milk and cheese and am not a big fan. Since I still want the dairy and protein from it, what is a good substitution?

    1. They are kind of an aquired taste so my first recommendation would be to keep trying it... your taste buds change every 3 weeks. I didn't like it at first either and now I love it! You can also try coconut milk, hemp milk, or rice milk but they are higher in calories/fat/sugar so not really the best options.

    I noticed on your list Ezekiel low sodium bread, I was wondering what you think of Alvarado Street Bread (if you have tried it)? The reason I ask is that I am not fond of the Ezekiel taste but love the Alvarado Street taste...I believe the Alvarado is also sprouted.

  12. When you eat your cottage cheese, what do you mix it with?

    1. I usually put in fresh strawberries, cantaloupe or pineapple cut into small pieces.

  13. What kind of almond meal do you use? Is it blanched? Thank you:)

  14. I've been wanting to use coconut oil but was hesitant. Is there a distinct taste of coconut and what do you use it for most often?
