What I Ate Wednesday- Tracking Macros

Only Wednesday?! Ugh.

I've talked about my sleeping problems in the past, they seem to come and go- and let me tell you, they are back with a vengeance. I CAN'T SLEEP. And it's making me loony. I lay there, and lay there, and lay there. Thinking, tossing and turning, everything but sleeping. On top of that I can't nap, so by the end of the day I'm literally delirious yet still can't fall asleep. Help

Anyway, as you know I've started counting calories and macros this week, and I'm excited that I've been right on target so far. Since I know I'll get asked a billion times, I'm eating about 1700 calories and doing a 40-40-20 split, but please remember everyone is different so unless you're my exact same height, weight, and have my same metabolism, you will likely need different numbers. I'm going to stick around here for 2 weeks or so and then evaluate my progress- If I like the way things are going, I will leave it the same, if I feel like I want to kick it up a notch then I may pull some calories.

So this is what my day looked like yesterday, except I'm just realizing I didn't eat the bottom left yesterday… that accidentally made it in there and my casein got left out. Waffles, potatoes and eggs, greek yogurt and toast, buffalo meatballs, and chicken stir fry is what was on the menu. I'm definitely trying to be more diligent about pre-planning meals so that I can make sure those macros are hit every day!

  5. Definitely feel ya on the no sleep thing! I go through phases like that also- I like to take Valerian Root sometimes when I can't sleep. Completely herbal and doesn't make you drowsy as long as you get in 7-8 hrs. Last week it was like you said for me and this week I am not sleeping well either; but my schedule is thrown off this week and Im getting in bed even later. My hubby decided to start a plan on monday so I have had to take extra time and help him at night- like last night we went grocery shopping for his clean food :) (Im not complaining too much this week lol ;) ). Today is rest day luckily b/c we have to meal prep him. I remember when I found your blog almost a year ago, I never (I hoped) thought my healthy habits would eventually make him change his. Who knew?! Had to share :) Thanks for being here with your healthy habits! Who knows what will come about in another year!

  7. Hi, b! Check this out: http://www.gdx.net/product/10120 I just completed this test in December. You take a sample of your saliva at 5 different times over a 24 hours period, including once around 3AM, and overnight it to the company. They then provide you with a full analysis of key hormones, including cortisol and melatonin levels, which effect sleep and awake patterns. I learned a lot about myself and why I feel the way I do. It's expensive and my insurance only covered about 1/3 of the $900, but you only have to take it once and it was well worth it to me for the info I found out. Maybe give it a try if nothing else works?

  8. Meal planning and prep is both stressful and annoying for me when tracking macros! It's so worth it but sometimes the 3-4 hours it takes is brutal :) I've gotta try your waffle recipe, sounds great.
