Bodybuilding.com Clutch Cut (So Far!)

Was it just me or was yesterday the fastest Monday ever? It probably went fast because I had a dentist appointment last night and I loathe the dentist. I did escape cavity free though, phew.

I posted this photo on Instagram yesterday and got lots of questions about the Clutch Cut program so I thought I would answer them all here for those of you that are thinking about doing it.

Where can I find the plan?

Do you think you can jump in to this program?
Since it's circuit based, you're not really lifting too heavy but it is definitely cardio intensive. The good part is you can start at your own comfort level, so if that means you just start out going through the circuits once or twice, that's fine!

Do you plan to rest on rest day?
Yes, both of them!

How long do the workouts take?
This is how I've been structuring them:
Lifting days: Quick warm up, circuits, cardio, stretching
Cardio days: Cardio, abs, stretching
Both days have been taking 45 minutes to an hour

How do you remember the circuits in the gym?
I just took a screen shot of the website on bodybuilding.com and I refer to that if I can remember what's next.

Are you following the program exact?
Not exactly, refer to my answer above at how I'm structuring it.

Are you following the nutrition?
No. It recommends 1g protein and carbs per pound and 1/2g fat per pound. I would starve to death. Keep an eye on my WIAW posts to see what my nutrition looks like!

Are you using her supplements?
No, although I would love to try her baking mix. I'm just taking the usual: multi, fish oil, iron, vitamin C, protein powder, probiotic, and adrenal support.

Do you like the program so far?

I do! It's challenging and I think I'll definitely see results. Especially if I can stop going to concerts, birthday parties, etc. etc. on the weekend! Yikes!

Let me know if you guys have any other questions!

Lastly, I wanted to share my awesome dinner last night.

Crock pot shredded chicken, egg whites, zucchini, onion, jalepeno, a dippy egg and avocado. It was SO good!

What program are you doing right now?
What's your favorite breakfast for dinner?

  1. Thanks for posting this! I was curious how do you make just the crock pot chicken? Is it just chicken in a crock pot so it's soft?

My other question is what do you expect to achieve at the end of this program? More muscle definition, muscle growth, or being more"cut".

    Thanks!

    1. Chicken with about 3/4 cup low sodium chicken broth. And no definitely not looking for muscle gain in this program, it's definitely designed more for fat loss.

    3. LOL okay. Well after some debate I decided I think I am going to try this program. I have a small amount of time between semesters and typically have a difficult time getting in the gym while in classes.

My other question is the medicine ball throws...how are you doing this at your gym? According to the website when you click the link it show a backward throw....any advice would be most welcome!! Thanks again for sharing parts of your life with all of us!

Thanks to your recommendation, I'm currently doing the body earned program(on week 12!!). It seems that clutch cut is also circuit-based. Which program do you like more? Which is more challenging / fun / lenthy? :)

  9. I've been doing the Chady Dunmore, FitMiss workouts and I'm in love. The workouts are challenging and I'm seeing improvements. However, I get bored easily so once I reach that point, Clutch is next.

  13. I'm a lifelong heavy lifter and this supplement fills every last nutritional hole I can think of, and then some. Gives digestive support, and full of natural energy. Throw in some protein and my stack is complete. And I definitely feel when this supplement isn't there too, because everything suffers. Strength, recovery, stamina, all of it. Especially recovery.

  14. Great post - very informative. How'd you find your end results at the end of the 3 weeks? I'm wanting to do a quick 3-4 week program before an event coming up.

  15. Great to see someone on this program posting about it. I wondered about fruit? It only mentions an apple but that isn't on the food list. Anyway I am hoping this program will melt off my unwanted fat before my big vacation. I'm leaving in 25 days so this program is perfect at least that is what I am hoping. Your arms look GREAT by the way good work. This program isn't age specific and I am 46 so I am hoping it will work better then what I have been doing. Thanks for the post!
