Happy Blogiversary to Me!!

WOW. Little b's Healthy Habits is a whole year old, amazing! It's funny to think back and remember how I wrote a few posts before I even posted the link to my blog for anyone to read, because I didn't know what people would think. I know now that starting a blog was one of the best decisions I've made; not only have I been able to make tons of "virtual friendships" with other bloggers and all you wonderful readers, but I have learned an incredible amount about myself.

* I've learned that it's okay to step outside of my bubble, even if it's a little uncomfortable.
* Blogging gives me a sense of accomplishment. Dedicating yourself to doing something almost every day is a pretty big commitment, and I am proud of myself for sticking to it. As a blog reader, I love reading blogs that are updated daily, so I try my best to keep the new posts flowing!
* I have been trusted with some very personal struggles and stories and I cannot thank you all enough for sharing with me. It is so touching to be trusted by people I have never met, and it is something I really, really appreciate.
* I've learned you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try... and it's more important to please those that support you than to try to change those who don't.
* Blogging has helped me recognize and appreciate the little things in my daily life that I otherwise may have forgotten. I want to be as transparent as possible, so I'm constantly looking for things in my daily life to take note of or take a picture of so that it can be shared. A simple trip to the gym or a restaurant is now much more important because it has become an opportunity to share a little piece of my life.

Now that I am on to year 2, there are a couple goals I want to document-- and you all have to keep me honest!

1. Get certified! Even though I don't plan on being a personal trainer, I really want to get certified, mostly so that I can continue to learn as much as possible about fitness.
2. Buy a good camera for taking photo's of my food. I really just use my phone and although my pictures have improved, I want those WOW pictures, so I need a WOW camera.
3. Branch out-- I want to try new things in the fitness world... yoga, cross fit, maybe a 5k? Marathon? Who knows!

If there is anything you would like to see on my blog in the next year, anything at all, please let me know!

I just got back from doing this workout and now I get to go shopping for a new pair of gym shoes courtesy of B! I don't know if I want these, these, or these. You know how I'm great horrible at making decisions, so let me know which ones you would choose!

  2. Congrats on your blogiversary! I'm happy I came across your blog. I've taken lots of little tidbits from it.

I hear you on the camera. I have a quick digital one but it seems I can never get a good-quality photo. I have to keep asking my son, who has a $700 Nikon and he's not all that impressed. LOL

  3. Congrats on one year of blogging! I just started and I hope I stick to it like you! So far its a lot of fun, but I have to remind myself that it's just a really fun hobby and shouldn't turn into a chore when I get stressed about not blogging "enough". I just found your blog and am LOVING it so far, so keep up the good work and here's to hopefully another year of blogging! :)

I'd LOVE to hear more about your weekly workout routines, and if you ever try Cross Fit (my sister's obsessed with it!) be sure to let us know what you think! :D

  8. I like the 'hot punch' ones. If I have fun shoes it makes my time at the gym even more fun and pink makes me smile LOL!
Are you going to try the tough mudder in Feb?

    1. I'm not sure, I'll have to look in to it but it sounds like so much fun! Have you done it?

    2. I havent done it yet. My husband and a couple of his friends did it in Jan for the first time and I attended as a spectator. I was so jealous when I saw how much fun they had. I did the Spartan race in Feb and the dirty 6 race last month. I'm hooked! That being said, there are a ton of these types of events in AZ but we have decided to only participate in the ones that donate part/all of your registration fees to charity. Now we have introduced 'mud running' to a few of our other friends and they are hooked too. My husband and I signed up for next years Tough Mudder and started a team with a few of our friends. It's only 8 1/2 months away :-)

  11. Happy 1 Year to you, you have such a great blog, I love it!!

I would love to hear more about our trouble area legs/glutes, seems to be the most commons trouble spot on ladies. Training routines, how often you train your legs and cardio that you do. Also, seems arms take time to develop a nice tone shape, what has your experience been with shaping arms and how long along with routines!

Keep it up, love your blog and its so motivating and informative!!

  14. Happy blogiversary!! I love reading your blog so much! You've really inspired me to hit the gym hard and the rewards are quickly starting to show in my physique. For a new camera I would recommend just updating your phone to the iphone 4s. The camera on it is incredible and you can zoom in and out. It also has a nice video recording function too. Try out a friends first and see what you think of the quality! It would be easier to just continue to carry a phone rather than a phone and separate camera...of course this is all in my opinion :) Best of luck!

  16. Hi Little B, Congratulations on the 1 year and committing to posting daily! I too have a blog but am a little slack at the moment. I don't know if you have many Aussie followers but I'm from Perth Western Australia. AND I LOVE YOUR BLOG! It is sooo inspiring, so truthful and it has lot's of great tips. So thank you. I have a question though. How do you work out your macro's? I want to find out what my daily calorie intake is (just to live)... I'm 58kgs and 165cm tall. I looked at J.Eason's Livefit section where it talked about carb cycling etc think I know how to work out the rest. Halijah :)
