The Big Day and Family Time

So is it just me or do Saturday and Sunday seem like they are shorter than all the other days? Back to the grind again, and this week marks 5 weeks until my exciting day, which I suppose I can tell you about now... it's a photo shoot! Eeek!! I will be shooting with James Patrick who has some great magazine spreads and has shot with one of my favorites Kim Dolan Leto. I could not be more excited about doing the shoot, but I am so nervous! Nervous that I won't look the way I want to, nervous that I won't choose the right clothes to wear, nervous that my hair/makeup won't look how I want it to, nervous that my stomach is going to bloat up and look like I'm preggo... can you tell I've thought about this just a little? Anyway, I'm going to keep working hard and settle my nerves by just telling myself "everything is going to be okay". I hope.

Yesterday we spent the day out at my parents house and they got to hang out with Charley for the first time. My mom told me she wanted me to make dinner and so we decided on salsa chicken... shocker! It's easy and versitle and everyone likes it so why not!

I thought I would share another addition to the family, apparently we are all on an adopting kick.

They adopted a desert tortoise! Crazy! It's huge and will probably get bigger. He didn't care much for Charley, but Charley was very interested in him.

And after a long day of eating an animals, Charley drove us home, naturally.

If anyone has any pointers or tips about photo shoots, send them my way!

  1. How exciting!! Congrats on your shoot! After my wedding I want that to be my next goal so I will be following you very closely : ) You're going to do great! Charley is too cute btw

  2. Exciting! You are gonna look awesome, don't stress it!

  3. You will look AMAZING at your photo shoot!! Congrats!! What kind of rice did you make and how did you make it? It looks yummy!!

  4. Hey girl! So exciting! I just got pics back from a photoshoot - don't sweat it, just focus on your workouts and nutrition and it will all come together. As for the hair/makeup - just definitely make sure to practice ahead of time. I had my hair done and did my makeup on my own and was happy with how they both came out. BUT doing my own makeup was a touch stressful on the day of so if possible, it's always so great to get them done. Just takes the stress off so you can focus on that day. I would also definitely suggest practicing posing - I wish I had practiced a little bit more than I did for some of my shots.

Overall, it was a REALLY fun experience so just make sure you prepare to have fun - it will make your pics look that much better if you look happy and like you are having fun :) xo

  5. SUPER GREAT!! You are gonna look amazing don't worry. OMG I want a pet turtle too LOL!! I hear they can get not only really big but are very strong too.

Oh BTW I finally got around to making the lemon protein muffins and OMG!!!! The best muffin thus far. I changed up the recipe a little. Here is what I did.
    1 Cup oat flour
3 scoops vanilla protein powder ( I use max muscle)
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    4 egg whites
1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh lemon)
    2 tsp lemon zest
    1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
    4 oz. unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup fage 0% greek yogurt
    2 tsp vanilla extract

SO YUMMY and moist. I love the lemon flavor. It was hard not gobble up the whole pan LOL.

Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
