A little shopping

After work yesterday we realized that we were pretty much out of food from the week- so we were off to the grocery store. I wrote up a pretty comprehensive list of what meals I was going to cook, snacks we would need, and ingredients for new protein bars I'm going to try. Since I work right by Whole Foods, I went there to get the things you can't get (or don't want to get) at the regular grocery store. These are mostly their bulk items like raw almonds, oats, oat flour etc. On a side note: I'm completely obsessed with Whole Foods now, and I think I was there 3 times last week... oopsie. Anyway, then we stalked up on all the meats, fruits, and veggies at our local grocery store. We ended up spending more than we usually did at the grocery store before we started eating clean, but I know the food will last us through next weekend and it's all clean, so definitely worth the money! These were part of our purchase, and although I know B thought it was a little weird, he didn't ask any questions! They are actually for some protein bars I'm going to try this week.

Once we are all unloaded we decided on steak, grilled avocados (amazing) and salad with an apple cider vinegar dressing.

To make the grilled avocado just rub some olive oil on each half with your finger. Then we used onion powder and cayenne pepper for seasoning. Place the avocados face down on the grill and cook for about 5 minutes or until you start seeing the grill lines. Add a splash of Tapatio and they are SO good! These meal was on the high end for fat, so I only had half a steak, and half an avocado, and saved the rest for lunch today. Speaking of... it's time to eat :)
